The Crèche and Carol

Hi everybody! I hope you had a wonderful week!  Last week was one of the best weeks I’ve had in this area! We found four new investigators! That was huge because during the couple weeks
before we didn’t find anyone.  Hopefully, Elder Rockwood and I can keep this up!

Speaking of Elder Rockwood, he is great! I’m really glad that he is my new companion. He’s from Thousand Oaks California and has been on his mission for about nine months. It’s kind of fun to be his companion now because I remember serving around him when he was a greeny in
Oregon City. He seems like he’s grown a lot over the last nine months.

Something crazy happened last week. It snowed! It wasn’t much compared to Utah but it was pretty cool to see snow up here! When it snows in Oregon the entire state shuts down so when Elder Rockwood and I went tracting in the snow we found everyone home! Yay for bad weather! It’s supposed to snow again this weekend so we’ll see if we can find more people that day.

On Sunday our stake put on something called a Crèche and Carol. It’s where people bring a bunch of different nativity scenes and you walk around and look at them while a choir is singing. I’m not gonna lie, I was afraid that it would be really lame and take forever but it ended
up being really spiritual. The members of the Stake were encouraged to bring their friends and family so we got to see a lot of nonmembers there. My bishop invited his friend from work and she loved it! While she was looking at some of the pictures of Jesus Christ that people had brought I could tell that she was feeling the spirit testify to her of the Savior.

I know that Jesus Christ lives. He loves us. He was willing to die for us. His sacrifice makes it possible for us to be forgiven of our sinsso we can live with Heavenly Father again. Another thing I know is that each of us have a duty as Christians, as Elder Oaks said in General Conference, to share the gospel with those around us. Bishop’s friend never would have come if her didn’t invite her. We should always be inviting people to come closer to Christ. You never know whose life you can change for the better.

I love you all! Have a marvelous week!

Love,
Elder Wilcock
